Winnings from 2009 U.S. Presidents Cup Team Victory Support the Hospital's Foundation
Released: May 13, 2010
As PGA TOUR professional Sean O'Hair drives, chips and putts his way through the 2010 PGA TOUR schedule, his biggest contingent of local fans from The Chester County Hospital and Health System are cheering him on for continued success.
The Hospital and O'Hair formed a unique friendship within the past year. In June 2009, O'Hair donated his time at the Hospital's annual charitable golf outing by giving a putting demonstration to golfers. O'Hair will return again this year to the FORE Health Invitational on Monday, June 7, as its special guest.
O'Hair, a three-time winner on the PGA TOUR, has recently designated a check in the amount of $50,000 to The Chester County Hospital Foundation. The contribution is a portion of the charitable proceeds generated from The 2009 Presidents Cup at Harding Park Golf Course in San Francisco, California, in which O'Hair participated as a member of the victorious U.S. Team for the first time in his career.
The Presidents Cup is a unique golf event in that there is no purse or prize money. Players are not personally paid for their participation, but each competitor, captain and captain's assistant is allowed to allocate funds to chosen charitable causes. O'Hair selected The Chester County Hospital Foundation as one of his designated beneficiaries.
O'Hair's $50,000 gift benefits the Foundation, which in turn supports the medical service needs of The Chester County Hospital and Health System, an independent and not-for-profit hospital. O'Hair's youngest son was born at The Chester County Hospital shortly after his appearance at the Hospital's golf outing last June. O'Hair selected the Hospital as one of his charitable organizations because of the positive experience his family had with the maternal-infant health services at the Hospital. The FORE Health Invitation benefits women's and children's health service, raising more than $50,000 through sponsorship and participation over the past three years. Proceeds have been used to buy much-needed and highly technical equipment for the Hospital's tiniest patients.

About the FORE Health Invitational : June 7, 2010 - White Manor Country Club
The FORE Health Invitational represents the union of two distinct golf outings - the FORE Health Golf Tournament (est. 1986) and The Chester County Hospital Invitational (est. 2006). Driven by the Willistown Branch of the Women's Auxiliary, the elder of the two outings had been a long-running fall tradition supporting various medical services provided by the Hospital. The newer spring outing was founded by a young family - the Benton's - who had the passion to memorialize the loss of their newborn son by supporting maternal-infant health services. The FORE Health Invitational combines the women's drive with family passion. Drive and passion: two critical elements for a successful game of golf. Together as one, the Invitational benefits health services for women and children. To learn more, visit the FORE Health Invitational.
