About the FORE Health Invitational

A little over eight years ago, the Benton family was changed forever. Despite the heroic efforts of the doctors, nurses and medical support teams at The Chester County Hospital, they lost their first son, Henry, during childbirth. To keep his spirit alive, the Bentons developed an endowment program in Henry's memory through The Chester County Hospital Foundation. The endowment benefits neonatology and maternal health programs. After founding the endowment program, the Bentons hosted a charitable golf tournament in partnership with The Chester County Hospital and other sponsors.

For the first time last year, the Bentons teamed with The Willistown Branch of the Women's Auxiliary to The Chester County Hospital to host the FORE Health Invitational. The Willistown Auxiliary has a distinguished track record of service to the Hospital, including hosting their own charitable golf tournament for twenty-four years. Separately, and now together, the Women's Auxiliary and the Bentons golf outings have raised more than $900,000 to benefit the Hospital in a variety of ways, including capital improvements, patient services and advanced medical technology serving the Hospital's tiniest patients and their families.

This year, the Willistown Auxiliary and the Benton family are again proud to join PGA Tour Professional Sean O'Hair in hosting a great day of golf for a cause they hold dear. Sean and his family are residents of Chester County, and both his third and fourth children were born at The Chester County Hospital. Sean will provide a golf demonstration for all participants and will entertain questions from our premier sponsors during a corporate luncheon.

As the FORE Health Invitational continues to grow, the proceeds will be used to support the immediate goals of Women's Health, Pediatrics and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Chester County Hospital and the long-term health needs of the community.

Past proceeds of the Invitational have helped:

  • The NICU purchase a Giraffe Bed for state-of-the-art care for its tiniest patients.
  • The NICU procure the GEM Premier 4000, a highly technical piece of laboratory equipment that allows nurses to draw a minimal amount of blood from the babies to run all the tests they need. This piece of equipment has reduced the amount of stress on the babies and their parents.
  • The Hospital purchase the Affinity 4 Birthing Bed for the Labor and Delivery Unit. This bed makes the birthing process more comfortable for mothers and their newborn babies.
