Chester County Day -- A Chester County Tradition

The Women's Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital is proud to celebrate CHESTER COUNTY DAY 2016, the 76th gala year of the longest running house tour in the country. Who would have known that when Mrs. William A. Limberger and her fellow auxilians decided to hold a house tour in 1936 which featured 22 homes, was known as "West Chester Day" and tickets cost $1.00, that the "Day" would go on and on successfully year after year. We cordially invite you to visit old and interesting houses, gardens and historic landmarks in Chester County on Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 10 am to 5 pm.

This year we focus our attention on Marshallton and Kennett Square.

Auxiliary Pledge: The Birth of an Era

Women and Children's Health

As said by one of our dear members, Jackie McCalla, the Women's Auxiliary's most recent pledge is truly the birth of an era for healthcare in Chester County. To celebrate 125 years of delivering excellent care in Women's and Children's Health, the Women's Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital has pledged $1.25 million over the next two years to NICU expansions and renovations.

Chester County Hospital – a part of Penn Medicine – provides care for more than 300 premature infants and full-term babies with health challenges each year, with a 36% increase over the past three years. Recent demand for newborn intensive care requires our neonatology team to care for a monthly average of 10 to 16 babies at a time, in a space designed for 12. Research shows that newborn outcomes improve within a specific environment, and updated space planning with a mix of private rooms and common shared space will support care that is family-centered, helping fragile newborns to thrive. Additional improvements include a transition room, a larger nutrition room, and closer nurse monitoring stations with a more direct view.

The Women's Auxiliary to Chester County Hospital is proud to pledge their support of a brighter future for our tiniest patients!
