Chester County Day™ - A Chester County Tradition

CCD FactoidsOctober 2, 2010 is the 70th annual Chester County Day, the oldest house tour in the nation. This year, you will experience Chester County's finest examples of original, reclaimed, restored, new and historically significant homes. While you are enjoying "The Day," you will also be supporting The Chester County Hospital in its ongoing mission to bring world-class care close to home. If you love architecture, artistry and antiques, you won't want to miss this premier house tour, this year centered in West Chester and Chester Springs.

What was....is new again! Experience history when you tour the 1893 Queen Anne home originally a church and a school, today this beautiful home is a must see! Tradition has us revisit a home that was on the original Chester County Day house tour! This beautiful 1806 Federal home and property has been lovingly renovated and restored over the past three years. Visit it and see how the tradition lives on.

The tour also includes a spectacular home that has windows, doors, hardware and fireplaces reclaimed from an early 19th century home razed during the construction of the Ben Franklin Bridge. When you visit this gem, be sure to head outside and be transported to another place and time in the splendid gardens with tranquil tea room and bonsai. Are you an art lover? One homeowner will be displaying her artwork in several forms including multi-media sculpture. There is something for everyone on this year's tour from Townhomes to country estates, from tool collections to carriages, art, gardens and antiques.

Along the route, stop and enjoy a picnic of our local fare or share a limousine with friends to take you around and make it a beautiful autumn day in the county.

Pledge of Hope
The Women's Auxiliary has dedicated its current fundraising efforts to the purchase of the Eclipse Treatment Planning System for The Chester County Hospital's Cancer Program. This sophisticated planning software allows clinicians to quickly customize treatment plans so that each patient receives the most targeted treatment for their cancer and the best chance of beating it. The Auxiliary's hope is for all Chester County residents to have access to the best medical care. Its mission is to support The Chester County Hospital's tradition of providing quality healthcare close to home.
