Health Plan Participation

Regarding Your Responsibility For Payment

When you receive treatment at The Chester County Hospital and Health System, you may receive a Hospital bill and one or more physician bills/statements for the services rendered. Commonly called separate bills for technical and professional services, the distinction between them is as follows:

A Technical Bill (Hospital Bill) is for services provided by Hospital personnel (excluding physicians); it includes charges for diagnostic testing and for supplies and medications associated with your treatment.

A Professional Bill (Physician Bill) is for professional services rendered to you by any physician or physician assistant involved in your care.

Although your Insurance Company may designate The Chester County Hospital and Health System as an in-network provider, it is possible some physicians and/or physician assistants delivering care or service to you within the Hospital may not be contracted with your Insurance Company. If you have any concerns, you should separately verify the participation status of Hospital-based physicians, including but not limited to the specialties of Anesthesia, Neonatology, Pediatrics, Emergency, Radiology and Pulmonary Medicine, with your insurance plan.

If you are insured by a health plan not specifically identified in this list, consult your own insurer's list of participating ("in-network") facilities to be sure that The Chester County Hospital and Health System is on that list. If The Chester County Hospital and Health System is not participating, you are likely to be considered "out of network." Normally, this means your benefit is limited or non-existent and your own personal expense may be significantly higher.
