As volunteers, The Men of Chester County Hospital recognize the importance of our community hospital's mission to provide services to meet the changing needs of those it serves. The Men of Chester County Hospital was founded on the idea that it is important to maintain the hospital's tradition of service begun in 1892. Volunteering for the hospital is an important way to give back to your community. This group holds as its purpose fundraising and friend-raising by way of service projects. All of the funds raised by the hospital by way of the Men of Chester County Hospital stay in the community to provide service to all members of the neighborhood.
The Men of Chester County Hospital was founded in 1996, by the late dentist, Laurence L. Lathrop, DMD. This core group has grown to an active organization of dozens of interested and involved men. Many of the men are former business owners, corporate and academic retirees, or members of the local business community.
Parking Attendants - Volunteers help with special events at the hospital when parking assistance is required.
Books - In the family areas throughout the hospital, the Men of Chester County Hospital stock and maintain lending libraries. Patients and their families are welcome to help themselves to hardcover and paperback books. It's a welcome distraction for visitors and just one more example of the hometown care for which the hospital is known.
Volunteer As Needed - Whatever the hospital needs the Men to do, they are always willing to help.
These valued volunteers give the hospital whatever time they can afford for its activities by offering their skills and talents. These vital individuals have the satisfaction of knowing they can make a contribution that is recognized and appreciated by the hospital Administration and Board of Directors. It is a great way to meet new people by getting involved and attending a one-hour, lively, "social" and business meeting.
