TO AVOID CONTAMINATION AND PROTECT OUR PATIENTS:
DO NOT COME INTO THE ICU IF YOU HAVE A FEVER, COUGH, COLD, OR A RASH.
Washing your hands with soap and water is the best way to prevent the spread of germs. Remember that ICU patients are particularly susceptible, so please wash your hands each time you enter and exit the room for a visit. Washing your hands before and after patient contact helps prevent the spread of infection.
Drug Resistant Infections
When patients have infections that can be spread by contact with others, the unit will initiate isolation protocols to protect the patient, visitors, and caretakers.
The Hospital provides special supplies, including yellow cover gowns, gloves, and masks near the room for the use of all staff and visitors. Gloves, gowns, and masks, if indicated, should be worn when entering the room. Remove these before leaving the room and clean hands immediately with soap and water or alcoholbased hand sanitizer.
