Visitor Guidelines

To avoid overwhelming the patient, and to allow our staff to safely perform patient care,
we have set the following guidelines:

  • Only two visitors at a time.
  • No children under the age of 13 are permitted in the ICU. This is for their protection and the protection of our patients. Age restriction is subject to change.
  • Please do not bring food and drink into the patient's room as a courtesy to our patients who cannot eat.
  • The Chester County Hospital is a smoke-free campus. Please refrain from smoking on all Hospital properties.
  • Flowers and latex balloons are not allowed in the ICU to prevent allergic reactions.
  • Please do not use cell phones and pagers while in the ICU to avoid disrupting patient care.

To protect our patients' privacy and respect their dignity, the ICU is a locked unit. To gain
access to the ICU, please follow the directions on the left wall of the waiting room, above
the phone. Once permitted to come in, please stand at least 10 feet away from the doors
as the doors will not open if standing too close. Please refrain from pulling and knocking
on the doors.
