STS Three-Star Rating
The Society of Thoracic Surgeons National Adult Cardiac Surgery Database has ranked the Cardiac Surgery program at Chester County Hospital in the top 10% in the country. The program has also received a "three star" rating for cardiac surgery by the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS). The "three star" rating denotes the highest category of quality and indicates that Chester County Hospital has scored significantly higher than the overall STS mean score.
Percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), also called angioplasty, is one of the most common and effective heart-related procedures. It's estimated that 1 in 7 patients undergoing PCI will be readmitted to the hospital within 30 days of leaving. At Chester County Hospital, we voluntarily submit our patient data to the CathPCI Registry® to ensure that we are on track with the suggested rate for PCI readmission. Our rates for readmission are consistent with the Registry's rate of readmission. We are dedicated to reducing readmissions and delivering the highest quality of care.
