Meet Our Surgeons, Cardiologists and Cardiovascular Clinicians

The surgeons, cardiologists and other clinicians of The CardioVascular Center provide a range of services that focus on the prevention, prompt diagnosis, and state-of-the-art treatment of heart disease. Our physicians have been recognized for excellence in cardiac care.

Martin LeBoutillier, III, MD
Department of Surgery
Section of Cardiac Surgery

Dr. LeBoutillier graduated from Columbia University. He completed an internship, residency and fellowship at New York University Medical Center. Dr. LeBoutillier is Board Certified in Thoracic Surgery and General Surgery. He specializes in minimally invasive aortic and mitral valve surgery and is an expert in off-pump cardiac bypass surgery. Dr. LeBoutillier has a strong interest in treating atrial fibrillation with minimally invasive surgery. In addition, he has recently co-authored two chapters of a book titled Cardiac Surgery in the Adult. Dr, LeBoutillier is a member of the consulting staff of the Cleveland Clinic.

Christopher Aylsworth, Chief PA-C
After serving as a medical specialist in the Gulf War, Mr. Aylsworth completed his undergraduate training and Physician Assistant education at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. His interests include critical care medicine and minimally invasive technologies for conduit harvest. As an integral member of the cardiovascular surgical team, Mr. Aylsworth works closely with the cardiovascular surgeons in all areas of patient care.

Jennifer Dempsey, PA-C
Ms. Dempsey completed her undergraduate training in biological sciences at The College of New Jersey, and her Physician Assistant education at Philadelphia University in Philadelphia, PA. She specializes in minimally invasive harvesting of both saphenous vein and radial artery. Ms. Dempsey has been instrumental in bringing minimally invasive conduit harvest to the program, and is one of the few clinicians in the area to offer endoscopic radial artery harvesting.

Jennifer A. Law, CRNP, ACNP-BC, RNFA
Ms. Law is a 1995 graduate of Lycoming College where she received her Bachelors of Nursing. With close to 15 years of bedside critical care nursing experience, Ms. Law has been a team member at The CardioVascular Center since its launch in 2001. She received her Masters in Nursing with the focus of Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Drexel University and now shares competency in patient management and invasive procedures done at the bedside. Ms. Law recently completed the Registered Nurse First Assistant Certification program, establishing her competency for assisting in the operating arena, for which she has proven to be a quick study. Ms. Law is a respected resource to her colleagues and throughout the institution.

Timothy Boyek, MD, FACC, FSCAI
Dr. Boyek completed his undergraduate training in Biology at Wilkes University as part of a six-year accelerated training program to receive his medical degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia. A General Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowship was completed at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He currently is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases as well as Interventional Cardiology. He remains active in multiple clinical research trials at The Chester County Hospital.

Recently, he has been instrumental in establishing a primary angioplasty program for the treatment of heart attacks (acute myocardial infarctions) at The Chester County Hospital. This primary angioplasty program is the first of its type in Chester County. Dr. Boyek is the Medical Director of the Cardiac Diagnostic Interventional Catheterization Laboratories at The Chester County Hospital and is a partner at Chester County Cardiology Associates. Dr. Boyek sees patients at their West Chester office.

Rita A.Falcone, MD, FACC
Dr. Falcone is a graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine along with a Cardiovascular Fellowship at the University Of Michigan Hospital. She had subspecialty training in echocardiography. Dr. Falcone is a noninvasive cardiologist who is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Medicine. She is a partner at Chester County Cardiology Associates and is also the Director of the outpatient accredited Echocardiography Laboratories. Her other areas of expertise include management of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, peripheral artery disease, cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac valvular diseases. She sees patients at the Kennett Square and West Chester offices of Chester County Cardiology.

Hope Helfeld, DO, FACC
A Board certified physician in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Electrophysiology, Dr. Helfeld has been in practice since 1992 and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Her specialty is treating heart rhythm problems with medications, procedures to eliminate irregular heart rhythms, and implantation of devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators and bi-ventricular pacemakers/defibrillators. During her career she has been involved in many research trials, participated in writing articles and a book with her colleagues as well as lecturing for the community. Dr. Helfeld is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society, and American College of Cardiology. She is Co Director of the Heart Failure program at The Chester County Hospital

Richard C. Hui, MD, PhD, FACC
Dr. Hui received his medical degree at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, after being awarded a Ph.D. in Bio-Organic Chemistry from M.I.T. in Cambridge. He received his postdoctoral training in cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology and internal medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Dr. Hui is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Cardiac Electrophysiology. His area of expertise includes both electrophysiology and cardiology. Dr. Hui is Medical Director of Electrophysiology Services at The Chester County Hospital and is a partner at Chester County Cardiology Associates. He sees patients at Chester County Cardiology's West Chester office.

Mian Jan, MD, FACC
Dr. Jan completed his fellowship at Temple University in Philadelphia. He has received numerous awards throughout his career. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. Dr. Jan is the lead research physician with many clinical trials through West Chester Cardiology and The Chester County Hospital. Dr. Jan is President-elect for Chester County Medical Society, the President of West Chester Cardiology and works as an Interventional and Clinical Cardiologist at The Chester County Hospital where he is also Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Chief of Staff.

Joseph Lewis, MD, FACC, FSCAI
Dr. Lewis completed his undergraduate training at St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia. He received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Lewis remains active in clinical research. In addition to his expertise in Interventional Cardiology, Dr. Lewis has vast knowledge and experience in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease. Currently, Dr. Lewis is an Interventional Cardiologist at the Chester County Hospital and a partner at Chester County Cardiology Associates. He sees patients in their West Chester office.

Raghuram Mallya, MD
Dr. Mallya graduated summa cum laude from Trenton State College, now known as The College of New Jersey. He graduated from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School and completed an internship, residency and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Mallya is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography. He is trained in cardiovascular computed tomography. Dr. Mallya's special interests include preventative cardiology, non-invasive imaging, hemodynamics, and cardiac disease in South Asians. Dr. Mallya is an associate of Chester County Cardiology Associates and sees patients in its offices in Kennett Square and West Chester.

Martye Marshall, MD, CWS
Dr. Marshall completed her undergraduate work at the University of Georgia. She received her medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed her residency at the University of Kentucky. As Medical Director of The Wound Care Center at The Chester County Hospital, Dr. Marshall specializes in the treatment of chronic, non-healing wounds. Dr. Marshall is board certified in Internal Medicine, holds Certification as a Wound Specialist and has special interest in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Gregg L. Neithardt, MD, FACC
Dr. Neithardt is a graduate of Binghamton University, Binghamton, New York and completed his medical education at Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, DC graduating Magna Cum Laude. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Cardiovascular Fellowship training at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Dr. Neithardt is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Adult Echocardiography. He has expertise in all aspects of general cardiology with a particular interest in prevention. Dr. Neithardt is a partner at Chester County Cardiology Associates and sees patients at their Exton and West Chester offices.

Gerald Patton, MD
Dr. Patton graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami. He completed an internship and residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and a fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Dr. Patton specializes in Vascular Surgery and is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is in practice with Surgical Specialists, P.C.

Robert Perdoncin, MD, FACP, FACC
Dr. Perdoncin completed his fellowship at Misercordia/Lincoln Hospitals Medical Centers and St. Vincent Hospital in Massachusetts, University of Massachusetts Medical Center, in Worcester, Massachusetts. For many years, he was affiliated with Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island and most recently was a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Perdoncin is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. His areas of expertise include nuclear stress testing, transthoracic esophageal echocardiography, echocardiography, and all aspects of non-invasive cardiology. Dr. Perdoncin is a Cardiologist with West Chester Cardiology.

Marc Platt, MD
Dr. Platt graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago. He completed his internship and residency at Harbor General Hospital in California and a fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Platt is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He specializes in Electrophysiology. He has developed a new technique for radio frequency ablation of atrial fibrillation. During his training, he had received many scholastic awards from Cedar-Sinai Medical Center, UCLA and Northwestern University. He is an active member of the Heart Rhythm Society. Prior to coming to West Chester Cardiology, he was the Director of the Division of Electrophysiology at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, California.

P. Raghu Reddy, MD, RPVI, FACC, FSCAI
Dr. Reddy, a physician with West Chester Cardiology, attended medical school in his home state of Oklahoma, at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he was nominated and served as Chief Resident. He pursued fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Reddy is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology, and interventional cardiology and is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Coronary Angiography and Interventions. He is a registered physician in vascular interpretation. His interests lie in atherosclerotic disease prevention and management as well as valvular heart disease.

Donna Reed, DO, FACC
Dr. Reed is a graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Hahnemann University Hospital. Dr. Reed is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Nuclear Cardiology. She serves as the Director of the Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Laboratories at The Chester County Hospital and the Vascular Laboratories at Chester County Cardiology Associates. Dr. Reed received recognition in Main Line Today's 2007 Top Docs Issue. Her clinical areas of expertise include consultative cardiology for the management of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease, aortic pathology, peripheral vascular disease and arrhythmia. She has a special interest in heart disease in women, congenital heart disease in the adult and 3D Echocardiography. Dr. Reed is a partner at Chester County Cardiology Associates and sees patients at their West Chester office.

Sean Ryan, MD
Specializing in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Ryan graduated from Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia. He completed an internship and residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia and a fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Ryan has joined Surgical Specialists, P.C.

Matthew Sewell, MD
Dr. Sewell graduated with a degree in Chemistry, magna cum laude from Washington and Lee University. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He trained at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for internship and medicine residency, and completed a c cardiovascular fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Sewell is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, and Nuclear Cardiology. He is trained in cardiovascular computed tomography and has published articles in academic journals in this field. Dr. Sewell is an associate of Chester County Cardiology Associates and sees patients at their offices in West Chester and Exton.

Nicholas Vaganos, MD, FACC
Dr. Vaganos completed his undergraduate training in Biological Science at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He received his medical degree at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and his fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine was completed at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. Dr. Vaganos is the past President of the Southeastern Pennsylvania region of the American Heart Association. He has expertise in Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology with a special interest and passion in heart disease prevention. Dr. Vaganos is the Chief of Cardiology at The Chester County Hospital and is the Senior Cardiologist with Chester County Cardiology Associates. Dr. Vaganos sees patients at their West Chester office.

Jeffrey Wahl, MD, FACC
Dr. Wahl completed his undergraduate training in Biology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. His fellowship was also completed at Hahnemann University. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Wahl's special interests include clinical cardiology, nuclear cardiology and enhanced external counterpulsation (EECP). He is Director of Nuclear Cardiology at The Heart Center of Chester County, Chairman of the Radiation Safety Committee at The Chester County Hospital, and was in the first group of physicians internationally to be certified by the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology. Dr. Wahl is a partner at Chester County Cardiology Associates and sees patients at their offices in West Chester and Kennett Square.

William Clay Warnick, MD, FACC
Dr. Warnick completed his undergraduate training in Biochemistry at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He received his medical degree and completed a fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Dr. Warnick regularly lectures on multiple topics in Cardiology. He is the, Medical Director of the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic at Chester County Cardiology Associates; the Medical Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation and Co-Medical Director of the Heart Failure Program at The Chester County Hospital. He has expertise in transthoracic, transesophageal echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. Dr. Warnick is a partner at Chester County Cardiology Associates and sees patients at their West Chester and Kennett Square offices.

Dana Weinstein, DO
Dr. Weinstein is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College and The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Mercy Medical Center. She went on to complete a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Baystate Medical Center in Massachusetts. During her fellowship, Dr. Weinstein was active in the community where she participated in the preventive program dedicated to educating participants in healthy living, nutrition, exercise and stress reduction. Dr. Weinstein specializes in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular computed tomography, and preventive cardiology with an emphasis in women and cardiovascular disease. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, and is a member of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
