Orthopedics Outcomes

Orthopedic Annual Report

The Department of Orthopedics is pleased to share our 2011 Outcomes Report which highlights quality data of our orthopedic program and is the result of the ongoing collaboration of our orthopedic surgeons, nursing, rehabilitation therapy, and home care staff.

Quality benchmarks are incorporated in all programs of The Chester County Hospital and Health System. The Orthopedic Service Line team meets regularly to evaluate and measure its effectiveness and is always prepared to proactively address issues if they arise. The Chester County Hospital participates in the Surgical Care Improvement Project which is a national partnership of organizations focused on improving surgical care by significantly reducing surgical complications. This ongoing initiative includes submitting key quality data points for the surgical cases performed by our staff.

The Hospital continues to exceed the national averages in quality standards relating to the prevention of infection through antibiotics administration, cardiac event prevention, and venous thromboembolism (clot formation) prevention. That is why we are diligent in focusing on the patient experience and are consistently rewarded with high patient satisfaction scores from our patients and their families.
