L Peter Soraruf IV MD
A graduate of Lafayette College, Thomas Jefferson University School of Medicine, and the family practice residency program of the Wilmington, DE Medical Center, Dr. Pete has been caring for families in Kennett Square since 1977. He has maintained board certification from the American Academy of Family Practice and is a Fellow. In 2006 he was awarded Pennsylvania Family Physician of the year by the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians.
Over the past thirty-five years he has had great satisfaction in knowing and caring for three generations of many families, sharing in the joy of a new baby to providing comfort to the aging. Dr Soraruf has served on the board of the Chester County Hospital since 1997, helping to uphold its tradition of providing quality, patient-focused care in Chester County.
The father of two and now a new grandfather, family has been a constant focus of his life. He and his wife enjoy travel, reading, music, cooking and wine tasting. Pete made time for training and running three marathons along the way. Named Lafayette Scholar Athlete when he played football and baseball there, he is a lifelong Eagles and Phillies fan.
Michael A. Welsh, DO
Dr. Welsh was raised in East Norriton, Pennsylvania. He completed his undergraduate studies at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia where he received a B.S. in biology. He went on to receive his medical degree from The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. He completed his residency in family practice at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania. Dr. Welsh has been in practice since July 2004.
Dr. Welsh firmly believes in the Osteopathic philosophy and practices a "whole person" approach, treating people, not just symptoms. He values helping patients and their families navigate through the ever changing and challenging world of medicine. His professional areas of interest include preventive medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM). Dr. Welsh enjoys seeing the entire family, from newborns through the elderly.
Aside from practicing medicine, Dr. Welsh enjoys spending time with his wife of 8 years and their 3 young children. They reside in Chester County.
Lindsay Calio, MMS, PA-C
Lindsay was born in upstate NY and raised in Berks County, Pennsylvania. She attended Shippensburg University as an undergraduate and completed her Master's degree and Physician Assistant training with honors at Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. She has been working in internal medicine and primary care in the Tampa Bay Florida area since 2005 and recently relocated back to Chester County this past fall when she joined Unionville Family Medicine. While in Florida, Lindsay served on the South University Physician Assistant program advisory board and was adjunct faculty at the Master's level.
She is NCCPA certified and maintains fellowship with the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
