The Center for Physical Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine
AT THE CENTER FOR PHYSICAL REHABILITATION AND SPORTS MEDICINE'S OCCUPATIONAL AND INDUSTRIAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM, A WIDE VARIETY OF SERVICES ARE OFFERED AND DESIGNED USING A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO TREATMENT.
Treatment is based on the best evidence-based research, is individualized and can be preventative or reactive in nature. Our goal is to design a treatment program that allows your employee to safely and quickly return to his/her position. We work to help minimize the lost time and production within your company and the amount of money spent on health services.
The Center for Physical Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine of Chester County Hospital can further assist employers, injured
workers, and physicians by providing physical and occupational therapy in three convenient locations or even in the workplace. Whether the bulk of your employees perform manual labor in a factory setting or sit at a desk working on a computer or making calls, we can provide your employees education on proper workplace postures. One of our Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialists can even visit the employee's work setting to observe and make recommendations on how to make the workplace safer, remediate current symptoms and/or prevent future injury. Recommendations include equipment or job modifications and education on ergonomic techniques such as proper lifting.
Rehabilitation services typically include work-simulation tasks such as job-related lifting and work conditioning. Our Certified Hand Therapists are trained in the use of the Baltimore Therapeutic work simulator, which will enable an employee to strengthen/condition the upper extremities while engaged in specific work-simulated tasks. In addition, our Certified Spine Specialists can administer the most effective research-based exercise and manual therapy methods to help your employees
recover and minimize work-loss days due to back pain.
Our therapists tailor treatment programs to the individual so to ensure an employee's ability to return to work safely. A
Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE), a test to determine an employee's ability to return to work and at what capacity, can
also be administered upon request. A formal report will be sent to the injured party's physician outlining current ability, level of function to perform various work duties, and tolerance for various work postures and positions.
The range of services provided at the Occupational and Industrial Rehabilitation program, from early intervention to work
conditioning, can benefit both your employee and your company. Our team of dedicated, highly trained therapists will implement an individualized program with the goal of ensuring a safe return to work in a timely manner.
