Independence Blue Cross (IBC) recently stated that effective July 1, 2014 LabCorp will be IBC's "exclusive" national outpatient provider for laboratory services and that Quest Diagnostics will be considered out-of-network. This may have created some confusion about Chester County Hospital's Outpatient Lab Services, but if you have the Independence Blue Cross Personal Choice (PPO) plan, this does not change your ability to use Chester County Hospital's services now or after July 1.
If you have Blue Cross Personal Choice (PPO) Chester County Hospital Outpatient Laboratory Services remains an in-network provider in the IBC Network.
Chester County Hospital can currently provide any and all laboratory services ordered and with the level of expertise and service you have come to expect from Chester County Hospital, and will continue to be able to do so after July 1, 2014.
Keystone Health Plan East HMO
Keystone Health Plan East HMO participants are required to use a designated laboratory for their lab services, which will be LabCorp as of July 1, 2014. Under this plan, the Chester County Hospital laboratory can only provide "STAT" lab services which are on the approved "STAT" list. This service has not changed and will not change after 07/01/2014.
We appreciate the opportunity to clarify this important message.
