In the fast-paced society in which we live, bone and joint problems can prevent you from enjoying your usual active lifestyle. No matter what is slowing you down - a troublesome problem, a sports injury, or an unexpected trip to the Emergency Department - our integrated team of orthopedic specialists, nurses, and physical and occupational therapists provide a comprehensive array of services all aimed at getting you back to your normal pace of life as quickly as medically possible.
Leading the team are our board-certified physicians who offer patients both surgical and non-surgical treatments for all areas of orthopedics such as reconstructive surgery, the treatment of hand and upper extremity problems, joint replacement surgery, arthritis management, back and neck disorders, sports medicine injuries, and problems of the foot and ankle.
Based in our Surgical Care Unit, our Case Management and Social Work teams are experts at determining the service needs of post-operative patients and their after-Hospital care. Physical Therapy is administered at the patient's bedside to avoid unnecessary trips off the inpatient nursing unit. There are multiple pain control modalities. Services requiring outpatient surgery are offered through the Ambulatory Care Center, located at the Hospital. Discharge plans are customized to the individual patient's needs and begin prior to the surgical procedure.
In 2008, The Chester County Hospital received Gold Seals of Approval™ for healthcare quality from the Joint Commission in not just one, but six different clinical areas. Our orthopedic services for hip replacement and knee replacement were recognized, as were our programs for stroke, acute myocardial infarction (heart attack), heart failure, and wound care.
