A Matter of Balance - Managing Concerns About Falls

Many older adults who experience a fear of falling often limit their activities resulting in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. This 8-week series of classes will help to reduce the risk of falling by teaching simple and practical ways to make the home environment safer. Trained coaches will help attendees learn ways to increase their strength and balance to stay active and independent.

Special presentations on a variety of wellness related topics are offered on the Hospital campus and at various community sites throughout the year. Topics are selected to provide a broad array of subjects including "hot topics" in the news and ways to manage specific health conditions. Lectures and special events offer the opportunity to meet our medical and allied health professional staff and learn about hospital services of interest to you.
