Integrative Pain Management Services

Integrative Pain Management Services provide individuals with access to professional integrative therapies that will teach cancer patients how to foster health and balance, and to manage the stages of the cancer process. The goal of Integrative Pain Management Services is to provide cancer patients with the opportunity to utilize integrative health in their treatment pathway with medical professionals as their care partner. The philosophy behind integrative medicine is that it complements conventional medicine with healing techniques designed to treat the whole person, not just the part of the body that is ill.

The potential benefits are that patients will develop skills that will help them learn meditation, deep breathing, guided imagery, proper nutrition and pain management. Patients will develop a perspective that provides ongoing balance during treatments such as surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. With the objective of improving overall well-being, those patients who are positively impacted find they are in better balance with their family and other support services.

Programs Include:

Reflexology: Applying pressure to the feet and hand with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques based on a system of zones and reflex areas of the body to promote balance of the whole body.

Therapeutic Touch: Nursing-based energy therapy used to balance and promote the flow of human energy to promote relaxation and reduce pain.

Guided Imagery: Practitioner-guided meditation to decrease stress, prepare for procedures and treatments, and improve overall well-being.
