Christopher Ware, MD
In the event of a medical emergency, including stroke or heart attack, please call 9-1-1 without hesitation! Time is critical in all health emergency situations.
The Emergency Department (ED) at Chester County Hospital is staffed by board-certified emergency physicians, physician assistants, nurses and clinicians 24-hours a day and provides care to almost 40,000 patients annually who require varying levels of urgent medical care.
Patients arriving at the ED will first go through a triage process to determine which level of care is appropriate for their medical needs. Nearly 30% of all patients seeking emergency care are seen in and discharged from our Rapid Treatment Area.
Karen L. Pinsky, MD
Pediatric Hospital Medicine
The acute care division of the ED features 22 treatment rooms situated around a central nurse/physician station. Each treatment room is equipped for treating both adults and children, with special amenities and accommodations in place for pediatric patients and their parents. Patients arriving by ambulance will go directly to the acute treatment area, separate from the flow of patients in the Fast Track.
