A comfortable family room is available on the unit, and visiting hours are from 11 am through 8:30 pm (with a brief restriction between 7 and 7:30 pm during nursing transition). Patients who have undergone heart surgery have different needs for rest and company. You and your nurse can discuss a visiting plan that works best for you and your family.
For uncomplicated situations, you can expect to be ready for discharge between four and six days after the operation.
