Visitor Limitations Lifted

Effective March 3, 2010:

As a precaution during the H1N1 and Influenza season, The Chester County Hospital enacted a visitor limitation which restricted visitors under the age of 16.

This limitation has been lifted and children under the age of 16 are now permitted to visit the Hospital.

We do, however, ask that visitors experiencing flu-like symptoms continue to refrain from visiting the Hospital.

Please refrain from visiting if you:

  • Are not feeling well
  • Experiencing shortness of breath, cough, or chest congestion
  • Have had a fever or chills in the last 24 hours
  • Have been told by your healthcare provider that you have the "flu"

Experts caution that another surge of H1N1 may occur in the coming months so immunization is still recommended. The current mild flu season may very well be due to the increased number of people who were vaccinated this year. If you, or a family member, have not received an H1N1 flu shot, doses are available from various providers in the community. It is not too late to benefit from these vaccines.

The Chester County Hospital will continue to monitor the spread of influenza and H1N1 and, if necessary, reinstate the visitor restriction.
