Prepared Childbirth: One-Day Class

This class is one-day in length and is intended for busy couples that wish the condensed version of the four week series. All the critical information to prepare for childbirth is taught in an accelerated fashion. The program includes discussion on the stages of labor, role of the coach, relaxation and breathing techniques, medications, (including epidurals), birth options, cesarean births, postpartum issues, and newborn routines. A tour of the Maternity Unit is included.
Recommended for first-time parents. Best taken during the 7th month of pregnancy.
Special Instructions: Couples need to bring a beach towel and wear comfortable clothing to practice relaxation and breathing. Please feel free to bring drinks/snacks with you to class. Class will start promptly at the designated time, so please allow yourself a few extra minutes to arrive. Lunch will be on your own. There will be a 45-60 min lunch break. You may bring your own lunch or buy lunch in the cafeteria.
