Diabetes Prevention Program Information Session
Date and Time:
Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015
There are about 86 million American adults with prediabetes. Could you be one of them? If so, you are 5 to 15 times more likely to develop type 2 diabetes! The National Diabetes Prevention Program has proven that type 2 diabetes can be prevented or delayed with a healthy lifestyle. If you are at risk, or already have prediabetes, you qualify for this year-long program which includes 16 weekly sessions followed by 6 monthly sessions to help you reach your weight and lifestyle goals.
This free information session will answer your questions and help you learn if this program is for you. To participate, a person must be overweight, have prediabetes OR be at high risk for developing it. Not sure? Take the Diabetes Risk Test to find out at www.cdc.gov/diabetes/prevention.
Special presentations on a variety of wellness related topics are offered on the Hospital campus and at various community sites throughout the year. Topics are selected to provide a broad array of subjects including "hot topics" in the news and ways to manage specific health conditions. Lectures and special events offer the opportunity to meet our medical and allied health professional staff and learn about hospital services of interest to you.
